John Konrad, the CEO and founder of gCaptain, discusses rebuilding Loran-C and argues that GPS’ vulnerabilities necessitate a redundant system. Konrad also advocates for the introduction of AI into the Loran system to allow for greater accuracy and improved overall performance.

He is also a senior research fellow at the Maritime Policy & Strategy Research Center, University of Haifa.

The conversation covers his vision of incorporating Large Unmanned Surface Vehicles (LUSV) into the fleet, in support of turning every ship into its own Surface Action Group (SAG).
