Sea Control 451 – The Philippine Pact with Dr. Claude Berube

Longtime friend and supporter of the podcast, Dr. Claude Berube, returns to discuss his latest work of fiction, The Philippine Pact, the latest entry in the Connor Stark novel series.

Claude has taught at the United States Naval Academy, worked at the Office of Naval Intelligence and the U.S. Senate, and as an officer in the Navy Reserve deployed overseas. He has been a fellow with both the Brookings Institution and Heritage Foundation.

Sea Control 450 – Autonomous Systems and Military Revolutions with Dr. Jacquelyn Schneider

Dr. Jacquelyn Schneider joins the program to discuss her recent article “Looking Back to Look Forward: Autonomous Systems, Military Revolutions, and the Importance of Cost.” The conversation covers unmanned systems, military revolutions, and the role of unmanned technology in future conflict.

Dr. Schneider is a Hoover Fellow at the Hoover Institution and an affiliate of the Center for International Security and Cooperation, both at Stanford University.

We discuss a pair of articles by our guests arguing for greater integration of the NOAA fleet with the Department of Defense’s Arctic operations, and how leveraging the NOAA fleet can enhance Arctic security.
