– Columnists on Topical/Regional Areas

– Associate Editors

– Sea Control Podcast Hosts and Producers

– Chapter Presidents

No age or experience minimums required. While some experience with the respective area is preferred our primary concern is your ability to commit and follow through. Expected workload is 5 hours per work and can be performed from any location.

While we can’t provide any monetary compensation as this is an all-volunteer organization, we provide a great opportunity for those looking for experience with a think tank/non-profit and exposure to wealth of expertise.

Contact director@cimsec.org if interested in applying.

The CIMSEC Intern Program:
We’re looking for self-starting interns who are passionate about maritime security and want to learn more about the running of a nimble think tank. These are part-time unpaid positions, but offer the chance to become an integral part of our operations. Our preference is for those in the Washington, DC, area, but we also offer e-internships.

Our acceptance process is somewhat unique. Applicants must first apply for free membership to CIMSEC (here: http://cimsec.org/about/membership). Next, applications must propose a long-term project that will improve CIMSEC such as service you can help us provide or a research assignment they want to publish with us. Let us know what we’re missing! Your proposal is then forwarded to our officers for review. If one of them likes your proposal and agrees to be your mentor/internship coordinator we’ll be happy to welcome you to the team. Contact extrelations@cimsec.org for additional information. Please include your resume, proposal, and dates of proposed internship.
