HMS KENT is a Type 23 Frigate, currently deployed in the Northern Arabian Gulf, working with other coalition forces to protect Iraq’s oil export platforms against terrorist acts. She is commanded by Commander Gavin Pritchard, and has a crew of 200. She is armed with a Mk8 4.5 inch gun, Harpoon, and Sea Wolf missiles, and Torpedo’s.
Today see’s the visit of Commodore Williams RN, to HMS KENT, he will tour the ship and be shown it’s operational capacity, and an overview of the the task she is currently employed on. The first of todays events was a Photex of KENT, and HMS ECHO. Shown in this image is teh Al Basrah Oil Terminal (ABOT).
